It really does bug me when i get asked the same thing over and over again..
There’s this Radio Forum i go on, I’m a Forum Moderator there, and all the time, we are getting asked ‘how do i set up SAM Broadcaster?’..
Okay, well here is the answer once and for all..
Go to Desktop B, and where it says Statistic Relays, press +, then press the button for Shoutcast statistic relay..
Fill the forms in, Host – IP, Port – Port, Password – Password..
(Check ur Preferences given by L2MR if you forgot those)..
Now press OK..
Now, on the Encoders part, press +, then press the button for MP3 (Normal)..
Change the format for the Quality and speed you would like.. (Default is 64kb/s)..
Click on Server Details, Once again put in ur IP, Port and Password given..
And then fill in your Station Name, Genre, etc..
You do NOT have to fill in Genre, Website URL, AIM, ICQ #, or IRC Channel, leave those as default if you like!! (They are just there for the Shoutcast Website Stats.. If you dont want it to be seen on the Shoutcast website un-check the ‘List on public station listing’ box!!
Then once you have done that, press OK..
OK, now in the Encoders box, press the Play button!
(Highlight the Encoder if you cannot press the play button)..
Now go back to Desktop A.. See the box called Queue? No? Keep looking, ok so now you have, great job, click on the Green + button to insert music, browse through your files until you find them..
To do it quicker, highlight all the music you want in, then press Open
OR, just go to where your Music is at, and drag it all into that box..
Double click a song (Or drag it into Deck A/B)..
Voila! You are now Broadcasting LIVE on your Radio Station!
I hope this helps…
I do not see anything that says statistics and relays on desktop B. I been staring at this thing for 20 minutes now trying to find this.
Excuse my bad manners.. even tho I might be a bit too slow to follow this guide as evidence but my previous comment, I want to thank you for taking the time anyway to show us how to use it. I hate to sound like a little ungrateful but it would be nice to have screenshots…
Ok sorry for the spam but I just realized that you say.. Sam Broadcaster.. Is this the same as SAM Party DJ? Maybe this is my problem….
SAM Party DJ and SAM Broadcaster are different, so yes this is the problem. Would you like me to create a tutorial for setting up SAM Party DJ?
Thank you for kind response, that would be great to see SAM Party DJ setup as well. Also for those running OS X, I managed to figure out how to broadcast using iTunes! If you want, I can write up a guide for you to post.
I can’t get to my computer at the moment, so I’m currently using my Mums Laptop from time to time, and so those Guides will be online by Thursday 😉
Jeez, that would be great, could you email the Guide to me?
If so, please email it to: gomon@hotmail.co.uk
And make sure you put a good Subject on it otherwise I will end up deleting it thinking it’s spam 😛

dose anyone no how to get the track information on your website from sam broadcaster??
and how to get the information for whos on air on your website?
is there a code or somethink?
it would realy be great help thanks….
david.
You can’t display the radio track information on your website if you are using Listen2MyRadio. This is because the firewall blocks it.
If you go to http://YOUR IP:PORT and click Admin. Type in your admin username (if you are a l2mr user then it will be “admin” without the quotes) and your admin password (if you are a l2mr user then you created this in the radio installation, just go to Preferences to find it out).
Then you can see the listeners ip’s. However as they do not enter a name anywhere, you can’t view their names.

Hi there
I have followed your instructions and the encoder does start
But when i go to desktop A and load my music
the play back stutters real bad
Any idea whats gone wrong please
@Nigel. I had the same issue with SAM, running under Win XP Pro but not under Win 7 x64. It turns out my issue with the stuttering on XP is a DirectX 9 issue. Try using Kernel Streaming Output under audio output from the Air Out, Audio Pipeline settings, or simply disabling local audio out if you are streaming. This should alleviate the issue.

Something that people need, and never seems to be discussed, is the sound card configurations for SAM. After perusing web searches for SAM setups and configurations, 99.9% of them go straight to encoders, and stop there.
A fellow host on the network I host on, has had some odd issues with her SAM. I hope you may be able to shine a light on a new direction. She is unable to use the ” Voice FX ” section of her panel. She uses skype as I do for co-hosts as well as her guests. but she has to leave the mic off . Hence … when she plays an audio file for like breaks or promos, the levels are really low and you can hear everyone on skype/mics. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. She does not have any virtual cable program running either.
I really consider this specific post , “Set up SAM
Broadcaster Gomons Blog”, truly pleasurable and it was in fact a very good read.
I appreciate it,Marcel
